My journey to self love has been long, but so completely worth it. Growing up I was always a bigger girl, especially on my bottom half. I started wearing shapewear at the age of 12, yes, you heard me right 12!

My weight was always talked about by not just my parents, but extended members of the family.

Looking back on it now, no one had the right to ever be discussing my weight just because I was curvier. Curves were seen as fat and we all know the word fat has a negative connotation to it. I hit 19 and fell into a deep depression that I almost didn’t make it out of.

After the last time I was in hospital, just after my 21st, something switched in my head and I started to not only value myself, but see myself as beautiful. Back in 2018 I was diagnosed with adenomyosis (similar to endometriosis) and what a tough journey it’s been so far. What I’m trying to get at is, I’m a tough cookie and I look good doing it.

The past few years have been a self loving journey that I hope to continue on for the rest of my life. I will continue to not only empower myself but other women too and will always be your #1 hype girl. I wish growing up I had someone like myself today to look up to, to see someone with my body type in the media. A statement I have come to live by is; If someone is unhappy about your weight, the way you look and the love you have for yourself, that is a them problem, not a you problem.

Life is too short to not wear what you want, just because you have big thighs or a tummy. Love yourself unconditionally because girl YOU are a Queen!
